The world of battery monitoring is evolving

and so are our solutions. Discover the innovations that make your work easier, new products, replacements, and how to keep your system up to date.

Firmware Update 2.24:
Higher Cybersecurity & Mandatory Passwords!

Important Notice:
The default password "cs141-snmp" can no longer be used!

From now on, every new installation must include a strong password. This password should be securely recorded, as GENEREX cannot recover it if lost—the device can only be reset to factory settings in such cases.

Security is at the heart of our developments—especially in times of increasing cyber threats and new EU regulations. The new Firmware Update 2.24 for CS141 & BACS ensures maximum IT security, making your system future-proof.

Key Security Enhancements:
Security updates against modern threats
Mandatory password enforcement during initial setup

NEW: Wi-Fi/WLAN Adapter for CS141 & BACS

With the new "USB2NANO" WLAN Adpater for CS141 & BACS, we are expanding the connectivity options for your UPS and battery monitoring! This solution enables a wireless secondary network connection.

🔍 Three Network Connection Methods – Which One Fits Your Needs?
GENEREX now offers three ways to integrate your UPS and battery management systems into separate networks:

  1. Pipe-Through Method
Secure "pass-through" of UPS signals for separate networks.
  2. SNMP Method
Query third-party cards without direct network connection, ideal for compliance with NIS2/CRA regulations.
  3. NEW Wi-Fi Method
Wireless networking with the USB2NANO adapter!

The new USB2NANO WLAN Adapter creates a second, independent network connection via Wi-Fi. Simply plug in the USB dongle, set the SSID & password – and the connection is active!

Benefits of the USB2NANO:
Easy installation – Plug & Play via USB
Secure access – Dedicated service technician access
No security risk – Avoids third-party SNMP cards from unknown manufacturers
More flexibility – Ideal for locations without wired network access
Redundancy – Simultaneous LAN & WLAN connection

🔄 Typical Use Cases for the USB2NAO:

🔹 Redundancy for stable network connections
If the LAN connection fails (e.g., due to router failure), the system remains accessible via Wi-Fi.

🔹 Secure isolation of untrusted SNMP cards
UPS data from a third-party card is isolated and read without direct connection to the corporate network.

🔹 Service technician access via mobile hotspot
A technician can access the system via hotspot without using corporate networks.

💡 Procurement Note:
This adapter is based on the Realtek RTL8723 chipset – it can be purchased directly from GENEREX or through local suppliers.

Fewer False Alarms & Easier Retrofitting
The Double-Faston Adapter

A major data center operator in Germany struggled for years with false alarms and inaccurate measurements in their battery monitoring system – one from a competitor, not from GENEREX! When asked to intervene, we decided to test out a method suggested by our colleagues at GENEREX USA – one they’d successfully be implementing for the past decade – in order to figure out the source of the ongoing issues.

The Problem:
Inaccurate impedance measurement due to poor connections
High maintenance costs due to necessary, repeat manual connection
Expensive outages caused by faulty alarm triggers

With the introduction of the Double-Faston Adapter, these problems were permanently resolved.

We aim to introduce European customers to this improved connection technology to ensure future reliability.

The Results:
No more false alarms – stable, reliable readings
Reduced maintenance costs – no more manual rework

No More CDs – All Documents Now Available Online!

📌 Now we are going digital:

  • Instead of a CD, customers will receive a card with a QR code which leads to the GENEREX website featuring the corresponding documentation for their device.
  • OEM customers receive individualized QR codes that lead to their own GENEREX-hosted download center.

SMTCOM Replaced by SMTHCOM – Now with Humidity Measurement at the Same Price!

📌 What’s changing?

  • SMTCOM is discontinued, replaced by SMTHCOM
  • No price increase for the additional humidity measurement function!

Why This Change?
More cost-efficient – Better performance at no extra cost
Simplified product selection – One sensor for both measurement values
