Activating ActiveX
G-Chart, a universally applicable ActiveX control element, is used to display numerical logfile data.
G-Chart is used to graphically display numerical data sets from logfiles or other applications in the Internet Explorer.
In consideration of the advantages that G-Chart brings to flexibly displaying data sets in an efficient manner, this ActiveX control
is the clear choice when it comes to performance in comparison to the data heavy raster format alternatives. The result is a reduction
in data transfer and quicker image generation at a higher quality than can be achieved with conventional raster picture techniques.
In order to enable this function, the settings in the Internet Explore must be adjusted to allow ActiveX controls.
To do so, please conduct the following:
- Select the command Internet options from the Tools menu.
- Select the Serurity tab.
- click "Trusted Sites" icon.
- and click Sites...
- Now enter the IP address (for example: http://217.110.21.83) or domain (for example: http://q01.generex.de) of the site through which the battery management system communicates.
- Make sure the "Require server verification (http:) for all sites in this zone" check box is not activated and click the Add button to insert the entry into the list of trusted zones.
- Afterwards click OK.
- Making sure that the "Trusted Sites" icon in the Security tab is still selected, click the Custom level button in the "Security level for this zone" group box.
- Activate the following options:
1. Enable the "Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe"
(The G-Chart control is completely safe.)
2. Enable "Run ActiveX controls and Plugins"
3. Enable "Download unsigned ActiveX controls"
4. Enable "Scripting-> Active Scripting"
- Click OK and click YES to "Are you sure you want to change the security settings for this zone?" and close the Internet options mask by clicking OK
- Finally, reload the URL of the Trusted zone containing the G-Chart functionality in the Internet Explorer.
